Almost all of these games I made by hand were board-type games that enabled the children to practice the skills they had learned through the regular curriculum teaching. I have always believed that making the learning process fun for children is a big plus.

I retired from teaching in 1997 and decided that one thing I was going to do during retirement was to make available to teachers, parents and schools some of my favorite teaching games that children enjoyed the most in my classroom. The first of these is my math game VALUE.

After getting a patent for game VALUE and getting the game designed and printed, my husband & I began marketing VALUE ourselves near the end of 2001. It has been so gratifying to hear parents and teachers tell us how much the children, whether in the home or classroom, enjoy playing VALUE ; but having experienced the excitement of my own students for over 30 years in the classroom, I'm not surprised! ~ Bea Brown
